Meg Whitman interview: HP boss lays blame on Autonomy

The boss of the world's biggest computer seller has defended her attack on the former management of Britain's Autonomy.

The Hewlett Packard (HP) CEO Meg Whitman said there had been very serious misrepresentation of the value of the Cambridge-based software firm when HP bought it in 2011 - and the decision to go public with those charges had been necessary.

Ms Whitman, who is trying to turn around the struggling computer giant, said HP had gone to the authorities a few days before its announcement last November - and the right place for the issue to be decided was by the regulators and the courts.

Autonomy's founder Mike Lynch has strongly denied the claims made by Ms Whitman.
