Queen Hatshepsut acquired the status of Pharaoh of Egypt in 1478 BC. She ruled for about 20 years, dying in 1458 BC. She is often considered to be the first great woman of history, and her rein consisted of peace and prosperity. After her death, some of those in power tried to erase her from history, but her legacy was too bright. She was the very essence of majesty. Her mummified body is on display at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.
