Описание к видео SCHD vs SPYD - Which ETF Should You Get? (Which ETF Is Better For You?)

SCHD vs SPYD - Which ETF Should You Get? (Which ETF Is Better For You?). In this comparison video I will talk about SCHD vs SPYD.

So, the main difference between them is sector composition.
SPYD is the SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 High dividend ETF that is highly concentrated in sectors like Financials, Energy, Utilities, and REITS. These sectors are known for high yields. On the other hand, SCHD is the Schwab US Dividend Equity ETF that is concentrated in other sectors that are absent from SPYD, such as Industrials and Technology. SCHD also excludes sectors like REITs.
SPYD, therefore, has a greater exposure to more sectors compared to SCHD.

Track record
SCHD is famous for its superior track record. Compared to SPYD, it generates almost two times the total returns in the long term. Since 2016, SCHD has managed to grow its dividend per share at a 12.58% CAGR. On the other hand, SPYD has managed to grow its dividend per share at a 4.60% CAGR over the same period. In the year-to-date period, SPYD achieves a return of -2.27, which is less than the 1.76% return that SCHD achieves.
SCHD is currently a more successful dividend growth stock compared to SPYD.

Volatility
The volatility for SPYD is 4.42%, while that of SCHD is 3.09%. This is a sign that SCHD experiences more minor price fluctuations compared to SPYD. Therefore, SCHD is a more superior fund to invest in for passive income since the risks are low.
SCHD wins in this category since it is considered less risky than SPYD.

But do they have any similarities?
Yes. Since they are both exchange-traded funds, they are traded on stock exchanges. These two ETFs can be sold and bought throughout the day. Additionally, they are both passive ETFs. This means that they are not actively managed. They replicate the performance of the underlying index.

To sum up, which is better- SCHD or SPYD?
I like SPYD due to its exposure to more sectors. On the other hand, I am impressed with the performance and track record of SCHD. I like this ETF since it has been achieving a higher return compared to SPYD and it has remained consistent. Additionally, I like it since it is less risky and experiences small fluctuations in terms of price. For these reasons, SCHD is the overall winner.
