Dog Bike Packing, road & single track with Burley Coho trailer

We rode from Lookout Point Dam near Lowell Oregon along the lake for 11.3 miles. Rio rode in the trailer on flat gravel and pavement until we reached School Creek road. He trotted along for 3.6 miles as we climbed a steep gravel road that ascended 1000' to our campsite on a closed road.

We camped right in the middle of the closed road with a small fire and cowboy music. We made popcorn on our alcohol stoves. We had very good firewood and few mosquitos. It rained at 2am and 5am so we scrambled to put up our shelters. It was very difficult to drive tent staked into the gravel road bed. Johns hatchet made it possible.

I put all my camping gear in the Coho trailer for a fun 2.4 mile narrow single track descent. Rio enjoyed running off leash down that trail. The last 2.5 miles were on gravel back to Signal Point boat launch where we ate lunch. It poured down rain just when my wife came to pick us up.

John rode his new Surly Karate Monkey with plus size 27.5 x 3" tires. We have 1 x 11 gearing.
I rode my 2018 Trek 1120 with 30 x 3" tires and pulled the Burley Coho XC trailer
