Norton Commando 1972 resurrection and restoration. Basket case with blown gearbox, incomplete motor, non matching. Now fitted with 1974 850 Commando motor. 2 year build while on Chemotherapy. Helped & finished by Brother Mick, who gave the vital last 13% push, fettling it to Roadworthy Certified and Registration. Built to budget. New Mk3 adjustable vernier Isolastics. New head steady mounts. New wheel bearings, seals, brakes. Some spokes replaced, wheels reconditioned, new tubes tyres. New Chain. New Steering Head Bearings, reconditioned genuine instruments, tachometer, speedometer, new wiring harness, new Trispark rectifier/regulator, New Tri-spark ignition, New horn relocated, new coils, leads, plugs, Original '72 headlight & Tail light, frame strengthened and reinforced at rear loop, and underside, straightened, taken back to bare metal & painted. Gearbox and motor cradle sandblasted and painted bbq black high temp paint. New Norton spin on Oil filter kit fitted, new oil lines oil tank cleaned, new rubber mounts, fuel rank new red cote liner, new fuel cap, new taps and lines, new breather hoses, stainless rocker feed, stainless front brake feed, new retainers, forks new sliders, new bushes, seals, springs, new seat, rebuilt original rear shock absorbers, new swing arm bushes, new spindle, seals and 140weight oil. Spindle retaining bolts modifications, new genuine ignition switch and covers. New gearbox bearings and new bushes, seals, sprockets and replacement gears, new selector, new kick starter and lever, new rear chain and sprocket, great gearing for highway. New side stand with new side stand mount welded, and new centre stand: mounts and bushes, new front brake master cylinder, and new left side handle switchgear, new mirror, new clutch & primary chain, seals, MK2A 1974 850 engine reconditioned with lots of compression.
New brake switches, indicator wiring is in place, new handlebars, all engine bolts reconditioned. New single Mikuni carburettor, cable, manifold, twist grip, pancake air filter. New clutch cable rear brake cable, foot pegs, passenger pegs, grab rail, new header pipes, exhaust roses, genuine Dunstall Decibel mufflers. New muffler support brackets and rubbers. New tank rubbers and mounts, new rear tank bracket. All original bolts threads cleaned and reused.
