From a classical guitar beginner to a classical guitar performance major at a music conservatory to dropping out of music school, taking a break from the guitar, and getting back into playing guitar for fun; these past 2 years have been a ride for my guitar journey.

This video includes a mix of clips from my two years of playing guitar. I am not an absolute beginner and originally wanted to go to music school for double bass before discovering the classical guitar. I also took a few months break from the guitar after dropping out of music school and did not count those months (in my 2 year total). Before music school and in music school I practiced 1-2 hours 5-6 times a week. I now practice 45 minutes to 60 minutes 3-5 times a week. I’ve had a private teacher throughout all of my practice and do not consider myself self taught. Lastly, I tried fixing the audio on the clips so that there’s a better listening experience than my previous guitar progress video.

Began learning: September 2018
One year: September 2019
Two years (excluding break): March 2021

My progress will look different from yours so remember that everyone learns at their own pace. Beginning an instrument or picking one up again after a break can be hard but if you want to start, take the step and do it. It’s never too late and you’ll thank yourself later.
