A video report of a training flight onboard Luftwaffe's oldest flying C-160D number 50+36 (built 05/1969). The training flight included two touch & gos at Fliegerhorst Hohn in northern Germany, followed by a routing across northern Germany towards the Dutch border, across Helgoland (an island in the North Sea), followed by a short loop into Denmark's airspace and return to Hohn. The entire flight covered over 900km and 2:30h flight time. The crew trained various maneuvers, landings and procedures. The C-160 is now nearing its end of life with an anticipated retirement from the Luftwaffe in 2021. The last operational squadron is LTG63 in Hohn, the other two squadrons have retired the C-160 already and partly replaced by A400Ms. Enjoy the wonderful music from the Rolls Royce Tyne engines. A big thank you to the Luftwaffe staff and crew for permission to joining this flight. Note: The video is approved for public release from LTG63.
