"Four Rotors are boring... let's double it!!" Ok, here it is the Walkera Y8 "Space Walker" Octocopter
Everyone is making Quadcopter now, from big to small. But who makes Octocopter? Walkera does. Why making it? Because they can.
By adding Four more rotors, the Y8 has twice the stability. Watching all Eight rotors work is just great, feels like a science project come to life... Eight rotors can resist wind pretty well, as can see our video was outdoor with light breeze, the Y8 can still fly very fast, making sharp turns, it's totally controllable. Now there is one thing special about the Y8 Octocopter, because it share the same component of the QR Ladybird Quadcopter, it can be converted into a QR Ladybird, Walkera Factory showed us "How to" video, but we would simply say it's a waste of time, because the covertion is very complex, involves changing the pins of each motor plug and upgrading the firmware and swapping rotors direction, if any of the one step is wrong, you can say goodbye to your Y8, so..... please forget about the conversion and simply get a QR ladybird body only, that's not expensive and that's a much safer choice.
