Whenever I place an implant, I prefer to do it with a surgical guide. I think it's a great benefit to the patient. There's so many benefits in having implants placed with a surgical guide. We can get the position of the implant, the angle of the implant, the depth of the implant, determined completely by the guide. And this way we're able to make sure the implant is placed in the right position. We're also able to make sure that we avoid any anatomical structures like a nerve or a sinus. Now way that the surgery is is a lot simpler. It's quicker and it's a lot less stress for us the doctors and the patient because we don't have to worry about making sure that we're going in there in the right place.

We see a lot of patients who either are missing all their teeth in an arch or they need all the teeth in that arch taken out and for those kind of people there's three levels of treatment that we can offer. The first level of treatment is just a plain denture there a good solution. If you want a nice-looking set of teeth something to smile with. But there are a lot of limitations with dentures, can't chew food like you would with natural teeth. A lot of patients complain that they make come loose. They have to be realigned off and they have to come in frequently for adjustments.

I try to convince my patients to do something involving implants because you get so many benefits from having just a couple implants placed in that Arch, if you get a couple implants placed we can do implant supported over denture which is still a removable prosthesis, but it snaps into the implants. So when the patient puts it in its stable it's not going to come loose and they can they can chew with more force than they would with a plain denture.

Then the next level of treatment that we offer is something with plants, but that is fixed in the jaw. It's something that doctor would have to remove it in the office. But this is the option that I try to convince most of my patients to to go with if they qualify - clinically qualify for it, because this option it feels most like a natural set of teeth. It's not going to come loose. It's not going to rock. So that's always the best option that I try to offer patients.
