Meet Jake, a Santa Barbara chef with a passion for the great outdoors.

When he wasn’t whipping up delicious grub, you’d find him camping under the stars, boating on the sparkling Pacific, or casting his line for the perfect catch. Life was good, and Jake was living it to the fullest.

Then, about a year ago, Jake’s world took a dramatic turn. A motorcycle accident left him with a spinal cord injury at the T9 level. He spent months in the hospital, grappling with pain, frustration, and uncertainty.

Despite the pain and challenges, Jake's desire to return to the activities he loves kept him motivated through his recovery.

However, there was a new challenge he'd have to face: his insurance only covered an older-style wheelchair that didn’t fit his needs. It was clunky, awkward, and made every tasks and dreams of adventure a frustrating struggle
