27th ASEAN-Japan Summit 10/10/2024

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Leaders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) engage in a dialogue with Japan, attended by newly elected Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru, during the 27th ASEAN-Japan Summit at the National Convention Center in Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) on October 10, 2024.

Japan has continuously supported the strengthening and promotion of ASEAN Centrality through its Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) strategy that fosters free trade, freedom of navigation and the rule of law.

Furthermore, Japan has actively engaged with ASEAN initiatives through mechanisms such as the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) and the ASEAN-JICA Food Value Chain Development Project, promoting sustainable agriculture and food security.
