About 500 folk performers from Peru and eight other countries presented the best of their culture show at the VIII International Meeting of Folklore of Mi Peru 2015, which ran from Friday through Sunday.
Under the banner "Uniting Hearts of the World," participants performed colorful choreographies as part of a 10-block parade along the Jiron de la Union pedestrian in the Historic Center of Lima, captivating spectators who cheered wildly.
Participants also staged plays at the Municipal Theater and at the Plazuela de las Artes, opened an exhibition and discussion group to share experiences and proposals for promoting folk art and customs, and provided the public with an opportunity to learn more about the traditions of each participating country.
The event, organized by the city of Lima, aimed to strengthen the identity of different cultures and promote international fellowship.
Among the foreign troupes taking part in the event were folkloric ballets from Bolivia (Ballet Folklorico), Brazil Chaleira Preta, Colombia Estate Foundation of Colombia, Ballet Folklorico Mi Linda of Costa Rica, Inti Huayra of Ecuador, Ballet Folklorico of Mexico, Kud Zidan Parfazol of Slovenia and the Czech Republic Folklore Ensambe Bett.
