Solar car charger... trouble shooting my zappi charger...

Описание к видео Solar car charger... trouble shooting my zappi charger...

This video is demonstration of how I trouble shoot the electric car charger Zappi... This is a electric car charger but with a limiter circuit that reduces the charging power to 1.4 kw (legal requirement) The surplus power of my 3 kw solar panels would then supply the car giving completely a greener way of charging the car... The limiter in eco+ mode would be able supply the full potential of the solar panels and would automatically pause if there’s not enough power of 1.4 kw... ( use this on full bright days but not overcast days as clouds would make the zappi charger pause for every cloud)

Troubleshooting the zappi was difficult as the support engineer couldn't say what was wrong... He wanted to check my electrics instead...
eventually after a long back and forth conversation suggested the ct clamp should connect to the outside meter box... ( which did the trick but left a ugly long wire from the window to the meter box...

Then a suggestion to buy a Harvi wireless ct link... (£55 )

later on while my car charged at night there was a ventilation fault on the zappi which rendered my zappi useless... I emailed the my energie support group and sent then the photo evidence... and they got back to me soon and have now sent a new zappi charger...

The new charger is slightly different but the main difference is that there is a software update to the newer charger is 2.104
suspect the transient surges that appears in the charger when first switched on to charge had effected the software readings, enough to cause the older charger to stop working...
