The Grand Canyon South Rim Trail can be conveniently divided into three sections from the Visitor Center: Bright Angel Trail, Hermit Trail, and South Kaibab Trail.
For Bright Angel Trail and South Kaibab Trail, it's convenient to hike one way and take the free shuttle bus back. You can check the shuttle routes and operating hours at the Visitor Center.
For Hermit Trail, you can either hike and use the shuttle at different points or, even better, rent a bicycle at the Visitor Center. This gives you the freedom to enjoy both sunset and sunrise without being limited by shuttle schedules—since shuttles do not operate during those times.
Additionally, Hermit Trail is closed to regular vehicle traffic, making it an especially peaceful and pleasant route for both hiking and biking.
In the Grand Canyon, you can find free drinking water at various locations, and it is very good quality spring water.
