I've been on a quest to find the lightest hiking daypack, which was also comfortable, and in the process, I tried 12 different packs over the last few months. There were some excellent choices, but I returned to the Zpacks Sub-Nero Ultra 30l the most; it was comfortable, incredibly lightweight, durable, and just got the job done. And second place went to the Zpacks Bagger Ultra 25l, and the best budget option I found was the Deuter Speedlite 21, which is excellent if you are on a budget.
