Описание к видео Egyptian princess Scota

The story of how Scotland got it’s name is an interesting one.

Meritaten, nicknamed Scotia, was an ancient Egyptian queen of the eighteenth dynasty (14th century BC),

and the first of six daughters born to Pharaoh Akhenaten, contemporary of Moses.

Her name means “She who is beloved of Aten”;
Scotia settled in what is now Scotland, after the Hyksos were expelled from Egypt The 12th-century sources state that Scota was the daughter of an Egyptian pharaoh, a who married Geytholos (Goídel Glas) and became the founders of the Scots and Gaels after being exiled from Egypt.
Another variant myth in the redactions of the Lebor Gabála Érenn
state that there was another Scota who was the daughter of an Egyptian Pharaoh named Cingris, a name found only in Irish legend. She married Niul, son of Fenius Farsaid, a Babylonian who travelled to Scythia after the collapse of the Tower of Babel. Niul was a scholar of languages, and was invited by the pharaoh to Egypt and given Scota's hand in marriage. They had a son, Goídel Glas, the ancestor of the Gaels,
who created the Gaelic language by combining the best features of the 72 languages then in existence. One thing for sure is, they all agree that Scota was the origional founder of the Scots and that she also gave her name to Scotland.

I’m reminded: though I’m troubled on every side, but I’m not distressed; I’m perplexed, but not in despair; I’m persecuted, but not forsaken; I’m cast down, but not destroyoud… for which cause I faint not; but though our outward man perish, yout the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for me a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory!
