[1080p] [60fps] The Battery-Electric Buses of TransLink!

Hello, and welcome back to the channel!

This week's video is on our battery-electric buses here in TransLink.

We currently have 4 battery-electric buses in our fleet. The 4 units are based out of Hamilton Transit Centre and are used on route 100. This is part of a nationwide pilot being done by CUTRIC (a consortium which is part of CUTA). The Pan-Canadian Electric Bus Demonstration and Integration Trial is a 30-month pilot started in 2019 which involves 3 agencies, 22 electric buses, and a number of fast chargers. The aim of the project is to promote the use of battery-electric buses in Canadian cities. Currently, the project is about halfway through this pilot stage. The study is currently looking into the cross-compatibility between different buses and fast-chargers.
