The T'rong is made from pipes that are towering at one end, cut to different lengths to create satisfactory pitches. The large and long tubes emit bass, while the small and short tubes have a high tone. The tone of the T'rung is a little cloudy, the sound does not resonate loudly, but it is very special because it seems to have the feeling of a gurgling stream, the sound of a falling waterfall or the rustling of the bamboo forest when the wind blows through.
