Laos Covid-19 Update: Travel in a Laos Becoming Impossible in 2021

Travelling in Laos in 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic has been more difficult than usual just as everywhere else in the world. Although travelling in Laos has been different, it was still possible.

Right now Laos is experiencing its worst wave so far. The problem is community spread has been increasing across some of the provinces. Vientiane recorded 500 cases in one day. Luang Prabang, which has been relatively untouched, is now experiencing larger numbers of community spread (40 today).

It’s sadly time to leave Laos and move on to the next adventure. I’ll still be uploading content in Laos for a while but I’m planning my next country of travel which is most likely Sri Lanka!
