Private investments are becoming a fundamental driver for the transition towards a sustainable economy. The European Union has adopted a broad array of regulatory strategies to leverage on the financial sector to protect the environment, deliver a fairer society, and improve governance. Consequently, sustainability and its regulation increasingly affect company, banking, and capital markets law.

This event, held during the EUI Climate Week on 21 May 2024, presented the 'Cambridge Handbook of EU Sustainable Finance,' edited by Kern Alexander, Matteo Gargantini, and Michele Siri. This forthcoming collection of essays addresses the most salient developments in financial law within the European Union and beyond.

The Florence School of Banking & Finance is a European platform bringing together practitioners and academics from the Banking and Finance sector to develop a common culture of regulation and supervision in the European Union.
