The late actress Kim Saeron took a heartbreaking secret with her to the grave: a hidden relationship with Korea’s highest paid actor Kim Soo Hyun. Though entertainment insiders say it was an open secret in the industry, official confirmation from both sides came this week in an explosive bombshell report.

However, the biggest allegation made by the late Kim Sae Ron’s family is that the relationship started in 2016 when the actress was only 15 years old. A year ago, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency denied any relationship. But with evidence released this week by Saeron’s family, Kim Soo Hyun admitted that there was a brief romantic relationship when she was an adult.

The public remains highly skeptical of actor Kim Soo Hyun even after his latest lengthy public statement denying any relationship with a minor and having a role in her decision to end her life. Did Kim Soo Hyun help fuel online hatred of Kim Sae Ron in order to remove her from the industry and thereby eliminate a potential career-ending scandal? Or is this another celebrity witch hunt against Kim Soo Hyun?

Note: Kim Sae-ron’s family said they first discovered they were dating in 2019 when she was legally an adult. They wanted her to immediately end the relationship but acquiesced to her stance that marriage was on the table. In 2024, she was going to publish a tell-all social media post outlining the 2015-2021 timeline and sent her family members a draft. Then she decided not to go public with it.
