[4K] 2021 BMW 7-Series (G11/G12) – The Best At Last? | Review

The BMW 7-Series has always been the penultimate BMW, the utmost expression of luxury from the Munich automaker. But despite that, the precedent set by the Mercedes-Benz S-Class has always proven to be difficult to shake, despite it always managing to stay ahead of the 'new-age riff-raff' in the form of the Audi A8 and Lexus LS, and has still managed to hold its own against the impressively-dynamic Jaguar XJ.

And while that's been mostly true here in Malaysia, in 2020, something changed. The BMW 7-Series took the spot as the best-selling full-size luxury saloon in our market, despite its divisive mid-life refresh that saw the implementation of the largest grille ever fitted to a BMW saloon.

So we took one out for a record 6-days to see what's what. Is this the king of the hill now, the ultimate limousine, or is it just having its day in the sun thanks to its sizeable price advantage over the stalwart from Stuttgart?
