I often see people neglect their soft kit when getting into re-enactment. The reality is that soft kit is a much better starting point for a re-enactor and is much easier to get into than a fancy armor. You spend far more of your time in 'regular' clothes than you do armor, and the clothing of the Middle Ages is every bit as interesting as the shiny bits. It's a bit absurd to own a high-end armor to do an impression of a member of the chivalric class and then dress like a peasant, throw an oversized linen tunic over yourself, slap on a ring-belt and call it good.

If people find this information useful I will make more detailed videos on aspects of the soft kit. I'm not nearly as knowledgeable about clothing as I am armor, and I'm no expert in either, but I know enough about clothing to get by. I can help with basic stitches, construction, simple leatherwork etc if people are interested.
