Recently, the 450th Civil Affairs Battalion traveled to Fort AP Hill, Md to complete Airborne Operations in support of their Mission Essential Tasks. We got to tag along to interview some of the Soldiers as they prepared and conducted their duties. The 450th CA BN has an exciting mission set, acting as liaisons between military and civilian authorities. Civil Affairs (AOC 38A, MOS 38B) combines regional expertise, language competency, political-military awareness, cross-cultural communication and professional military skills to conduct civil affairs operations and support civil-military operations in support of conventional and special operations forces. And this unit jumps out of planes, too! The reclass school is 29 days, so If you are interested in a high speed, high tempo Reserve Unit, this may be the one for you! We have Units in Rockville, MD, FT Meade, MD, FT Story, VA, and elsewhere across 26 states. Did we mention that Airborne Soldiers are entitled to additional “jump pay”?
