During Thursday’s primetime January 6 hearings, the committee played outtakes of Donald Trump attempting to read a speech on January 7, 2021, the day after the attack he caused on the Capitol building. The footage was even more revealing for what Trump refused to say than what he did say on the final recording. Notably, Trump refused to say that the election was over. Reportedly, Trump’s attempt to record this statement took nearly one hour in total. These outtakes are as humiliating as they are incriminating.
