Born in Hawaii, 1929, James Shigeta was one of the first asian-american actors to gain fame and to become well known nation wide. Besides acting, he also had a singing career, most successful in Japan, during the late 50s.

He is most known for Flower Drum Song(1961) and Die Hard(1988), where he played Nakatomi's CEO - Joe Takagi. He passed away in 2014.
