DJ Target & 13 MCs (Wiley + Many More) | The Ultimate Jungle Rinse Out 1996 on Rinse FM

Описание к видео DJ Target & 13 MCs (Wiley + Many More) | The Ultimate Jungle Rinse Out 1996 on Rinse FM

Artwork by Take Me Back Pirate Radio Archives. THIS IS WHERE WILEY LEARNT THE ART OF CLASHING. Big up @WileyUK. He's been clashing MCs from day one. This was an ultimate rinse out recorded in 1996 of an old school Jungle set on 97.6 Rinse FM with DJ Target (BBC Radio 1Xtra) and 13 MCs: Wiley, Carbon, BK, Major Skits, Plague, Riddles, Mystery Major, Fenton, Caspit, Blade, Lady ST, Lady Dyer and Lady Sweetie. It was also a sound clash aimed at Kool FM. After this show people started taking note. In response to all this if you hear one of Skibadee lyrics at the time he aimed it at Rinse FM and other stations competing against Kool: "Radio One can't touch dis! Rinse! What rinse dem out without a doubt all of the roughneck scout. All of dem talk 'bout Eruption but dem can't touch the number one", 00:53:16 on    • Skibadee, Shabba D, Shockin B & DJ Tr...
It goes without saying that Kool FM dominated the airwaves before, during and after this recording. However, that's not us taking a knock at what Rinse FM was producing. Those days were fun exciting times with unlimited pirate radio stations to listen to and Rinse FM was definitely ranked as one of our favourites during that era.
There have been many discussions about the impact of this show and how it set the pace for others to follow. In fact a lot crews that came after this self modelled themselves and their style to this, not just up and coming Jungle MCs but Garage MCs in particular. The bottom line is Rinse FM were innovators and they were big influencers, not followers.
To those of you who are familiar with the clashes in the Grime scene, you can see where Wiley's roots lie, beginning with this Kool FM clash, moving to UK Garage with his infamous clash against the Heartless Crew @Destinys Watford. Then his clashes with Durrty Goodz, Boyz in The Hood, Asher D (Ashley Walters, of So Solid), More Fire Crew, Lethal B (Lethal Bizzle), Fire Camp, Ghetto (Wiley vs Ghetts (Risky Roadz), Lord of The Mics clash with Wiley Vs Kano. In recent years Wiley also clashed Dot Rotten, Skepta and Stormzy with: Wiley - Eediyat Skengman (Stormzy Send), releasing a string go follow ups dissing Stormzy. It was by no coincidence that Wiley has been dubbed the "King of Grime", "The Godfather" and other accolades. His fiery pugnacious style is still what brings him the limelight as the Grime scene evolves.
Shouts out to the original 97.6 and 91.8 Rinse FM massive so many names to mention: DJ Geneeus, DJ Target, DJ Trend (RIP), DJ Roy B, DJ Suss 1, DJ Woody G, DJ Slim Fast (DJ Slimzee), DJ Nicky Slim Ting, DJ Diesle (D Power), DJ Sharkey (aka DJ A Plus), DJ Stingray, DJ Majestic, DJ Opium, DJ Admiral, DJ Fury, DJ Switch, MC Wiley, MC Riko Dan, MC Breeze, MC Ace (Major Ace (RIP)), MC Pepsi (Gods Gift), MC Riddles, Stamina MC, MC Plague, Maxwell D (Maxwell Ranger), MC Trouble, MC Paco, MC Breakfast Man, MC Carbon, MC Major Skits, MC BK, MC Caspit, MC Blade, MC Mystery Major, MC Fenton, MC Stinga Bee, MC Lady ST, MC Lady Sweetie, MC Lady Dyer, MC Beanie, MC DUB & loads more.
