Do you want to learn the key leadership skills that translate strategy into results? Execution is both an organizational culture and a specific set of behaviors. We read the book “Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done” by authors Ram Charan and former Honeywell CEO Larry Bossidy and summarized the book’s top insights, including: a seven-step framework to build leadership behaviors, a four-step process to create a culture of execution, a retention risk analysis matrix to determine how to hire and keep the best talent, and a leadership assessment summary to grade yourself on your ability to make decisions quickly, get things done through delegation and follow through on your goals. We’ll also share the three core processes of an execution culture that are the foundation of the best leaders’ competitive advantage.

Larry Bossidy was the former Chairman and CEO of Honeywell International, a global $40 billion advanced technology and manufacturing company. Before Bossidy became chairman and CEO of Honeywell in 1991, he rose through the ranks of General Electric to lead the GE Capital Corporation and turned it into a world-class financial service organization. He later became Vice-Chairman of GE and helped CEO Jack Welch reposition the company into a $65 billion industrial giant. Bossidy’s co-author, Ram Charan, is a corporate consultant and advisor based out of Dallas Texas who helps advise CEOs on governance transformation. When Bossidy joined Honeywell in 1991, the company was losing cash and was way too internally focused with too much bureaucratic bloat. As Bossidy said in a 1995 interview, they had “centralized all the people and decentralized all the paper." By the end of this video, you’ll learn the frameworks Bossidy used to create an execution culture that turned the company around into the $160B market-cap company it is today.
