Version 2: AS3X-Safe Switch Setup on the AR637TA/AR637T Receivers and NX8 Transmitter

Описание к видео Version 2: AS3X-Safe Switch Setup on the AR637TA/AR637T Receivers and NX8 Transmitter

I was not very happy with V.1, so I did a complete re-take. Enjoy!

The ability to turn off all gyro stabilization in E-Flite models can be important if you make modifications to an aircraft or move a receiver from a Bind-and-Fly to a different aircraft. The correct gyro settings can be different for different aircraft and after modifications, and if not set correctly will result in loss of control if the gyro is turned on.

By setting up a switch to turn off all gyro functions you can still fly the model safely even if the gyros are not set up correctly. This is very handy on maiden flights and as a backup if you have a gyro failure.

The 637TA/T models are locked and must be reset to gain access to all forward programming settings. You can, however, still set a switch for Safe and AS3X modes even in the locked versions.

In this video I set the NX8's switch B to the Gear channel and use its 3 positions to set 3 gyro flight modes on a Bind and Fly locked AR637TA in a brand new BNF Conscendo:

Switch Position 2/Flight Mode 3 = No Gyros
Switch Position 1/Flight Mode 2 = AS3X On
Switch Position 0/Flight Mode 1 = Safe On

You can do this without unlocking the receiver, even if it's the TA model. You do not need to follow E-Flite's control stick procedure to assign a Safe switch. This process will set it that switch.

IMPORTANT! If the gyros are not working correctly in Safe you will need to unlock and reset a AR637TA to factory defaults. That includes programming for all correct settings, including receiver orientation in the aircraft and servo travel direction. An excellent Spektrum video on the AR637TA unlocking process is here:

A good 5-part series by Miguel Alvarez on what comes next if you want to change other settings after unlocking starts here:
