There is a vote coming up on the Swiss Responsible Business Initiative (die Konzernverantwortungsinitiative) this Sunday. The initiative mandates multinational companies to be socially and environmentally responsible, not only for their own operations but also for those of their subsidiaries.

There is plenty of material for arguments pro and contra the popular and controversial initiative. In this video I briefly explain what it is about and talk about the contrast between ethical and legal obligations. I venture to argue that this might be a golden opportunity for the furthering of human rights and environmental protection.
