The 707 already has enjoyed two good runs in local history, first as part of the East Dallas-to-downtown streetcar route before the system closed in 1956 and later as the centerpiece of a restaurant known for its family-style menu and kitschy old-time décor.

So many of us celebrated birthdays and school field trips in that streetcar during Spaghetti Warehouse’s glory days. But when the restaurant ended its almost 50-year run, the 707 was quietly auctioned off with the rest of the memorabilia.
