Ahead of crucial Assembly elections next year in Uttar Pradesh, BJP has made a clean-sweep in District Panchayat Elections for the chairman's post; securing 67 out of 75 seats. “We can say that these panchayat polls were not a trailer of the upcoming UP Elections. Every election is different,” says Anila Singh, Spokesperson, BJP. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted: “The BJP’s historic sweep in these elections is due to pro-people policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he tweeted. The victory in these elections is crucial for the ruling party which lost the zila panchayat ward members’ polls to the opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) in April. “BJP could not convince the people, they used unfair means to influence panchayat members to vote for BJP members as Zila panchayat head,” says Anurag Bhadouria, Spokesperson, SP.
