WOW! This is truly one of my favorite animal adventures to date! To get out into nature and encounter so many spectacular snakes was a real dream come true! Despite popular opinion, cottonmouths are some of the calmest venomous snakes I've ever worked with. From the northern cottonmouths back in Texas and Oklahoma, to the beautiful Florida cottonmouths from the sunshine state, these snakes have never behaved in a way that aligns with the rumors and wivestales I've heard throughout my life. While yes these are potentially dangerous snakes, they are far from the aggressive heat-seeking missiles many people perpetrate them to be. I may be in the minority but I love running into these iconic vipers and I will never cease in my defense of these fantastic reptiles! Have you ever seen a cottonmouth in the wild? Let me know!
