As we navigate this busy week, rich with darkest nights of solstice, the glow of the full moon, as well as Christmas and the New Year, I find myself drawn to the profound wisdom of Dr. Clarissa Pikola Estes and her groundbreaking work in "Women Who Run with the Wolves."
I'm reminded of the importance of compassion for oneself. As I integrate the changes brought by winter and reflect upon the passing year, I find offering kindness to myself is paramount.

In this week's movement invitation you can join me in listening to Alicia Keys' Gramercy Park. Let the melody be a gentle guide as you tenderly care for the parts of you that tirelessly strive to meet perceived expectations. Perhaps, as the music unfolds, you'll find moments to shed any lingering shame and guilt, allowing a new lightness in your body and mind.

In our shared meditation space, we delve into the poignant words of Dr. Estes: "Women have died a thousand deaths by the age of twenty." Together, let's explore the concept of relinquishing dreams, those moments when we may have felt cut off from opportunities. Let's acknowledge these emotions with tenderness and gentleness. Please take care and navigate this journey in a way that resonates with you today.

As we progress, we'll select a challenging moment, dedicating time to embrace the emotions that surface. And, with care, we'll contemplate whether there's an aspect of it that we are ready to release. Below are journaling questions meant to support you in this process.

Journaling Questions:
Write down an experience you wish to explore further. Take your time and describe what you remember.

Take time to acknowledge the feelings that arise anger, sadness or shame might be present. Take time on the page to listen to what these emotions have to say and give them care and compassion. Take care and only do what feels right for you today.

Ask yourself what you might want to release having acknowledged this “death” does any aspect want to be laid to rest to make room for a new story?
