Title: Structure of the Christian Family
Text: Acts 11:19-27
Introduction:
The purpose of this study is to understand the seriousness of the vicious attack that is going on against the marriage and the home and the family today.
This is a deliberate, calculated, premeditated plan by Satan to destroy the home because he wants to destroy the world, he wants to destroy the church, and in the process of doing that, he wants to destroy the foundation upon which society itself is built and he is very busy doing that today.
A person who is saved may not be a Christian, they may not be living a Christ centered life, that’s not what make you a Christian. Getting saved is what makes you a child of God, the way you live after you are saved determines whether or not you have the right to be called a Christian.
The very first thing that you have to do if you are going to be called a Christian family is you have to put Christ right in the center of your family, in the center of all of your activities. That is the very first thing you have to do.

I. Salvation of the family members
Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
If you are going to be a Christ-centered family, the first thing that has to happen is that each member of the family must received Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour to become a Christian family, you must be saved, you must receive Christ as your Saviour.

II. The manner of conversation
1 Peter 1:15,16 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation. Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Your conduct, the way you live, the daily conduct of your life, it must be Christ-centered. All your conduct, everything that comes out of your mouth and of your life, it must be centered around Christ, it must be pleasing to Christ, it must be approved by Christ in order for you to be qualified as a Christian family.

III. Biblical Education
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
The problem is that today, the educational system that we now are confronted with in this world normally teaches everything against the Bible, everything that are against God. They trying to form the minds of people to be socialistic and to be none God-like none-Christian and so forth.
To be a Christ-centered home, a Christian family you need to study the Word of the Living God. You need to open that Bible and study as a family the Word of God.

IV. Occupation of Christian service
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Another very important phrase is that we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works. Another important way God says a thing, not about Him but IN CHRIST JESUS.
When you go down in the house of God as a family, everyone of you ought to be involved in some ways in serving God Almighty and you need to be serving Him even in your home. That is the very important activity of the family, serving the Lord.
Your occupation could violate you from being called a Christian if you work in a business producing a product that is sinful, that is wicked that is not living a Christ-centered life.

V. Friendship that is Christ-centered
1 Samuel 18:1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
When you make a friend, that friend must be Christ-centered just as you are Christ-centered. They must be living a life that pleases Christ, that honors Christ, that has the same kind of love in their heart for you that Christ has for you.
VI. Recreation that draw you closer to God
Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
There are two major activities that we need to pay attention of a person’s conversation, whether you do something by the word you speak or the deed that you do, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
A recreation of any form that takes you away from God’s house that causes you to disobey Him in any manner is a recreation you should not be involve with because it doesn’t place you in a Christ-centered position, it removes you from a Christ-centered position.

Conclusion:
Work on making your family a Christian family. Work on making your home a Christian home, work on making your marriage a Christian marriage and the first step is receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour and then work and leading every member of your family to the Lord Jesus Christ.
