A gunshot was fired outside the Jamia Millia Islamia, varsity students claimed on Sunday. "Two unidentified persons resorted to firing outside the University gate no. 5. They came on a red coloured Scooty from Shaheen Bagh side," the Jamia Coordination Committee said in a statement. "One of them was wearing a red jacket," it added.No injuries have been reported so far. The Delhi Police has filed an FIR against unidentified persons in the Jamia firing incident. The FIR has been filed under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 27 (punishment for using arms) of the Arms Act.
