Medley: "Saigo no Kyojin", "Akatsuki no Requiem", and "To You in 2000 Years"

This powerful medley from Attack on Titan brings together three of the anime’s most iconic musical themes: “Saigo no Kyojin” (The Final Titan), “Akatsuki no Requiem” (Requiem of the Dawn), and “To You in 2000 Years.” Heard together, they trace a dramatic arc that reflects the emotional intensity and moral complexity at the heart of the series.

Renowned for its gripping narrative, layered characters, and unflinching portrayal of humanity under siege, Attack on Titan derives much of its impact from its music, composed largely by Hiroyuki Sawano in collaboration with other artists. The score’s blend of orchestral power, choral color, and propulsive rhythm has become inseparable from the story’s most unforgettable moments.

This medley captures the series’ defining themes: the cruelty and relentlessness of war, the loss of innocence, and the enduring — often heartbreaking — pursuit of freedom. The music shifts between haunting lament, solemn resolve, and explosive grandeur, echoing the characters’ struggle as they confront destiny, morality, and the weight of their history.

Founded in 2022, Sparkle Guitar Ensemble is a collaborative effort between passionate young guitarists from NUS and SMU. Sparkle Guitar Ensemble is a fledgling group aiming to develop, promote and explore the Niibori guitar art form through music creation and performance. It seeks to make Niibori more approachable for the public by arranging and performing contemporary works from video game and anime soundtracks with Niibori instrumentation, as well as performing traditional Japanese Niibori repertoire on a variety of platforms.
