In this video, I’m going to show you how to plaster a brick wall.

In this example where plastering onto concrete blocks and In the world of plastering, this is often called Float and Set. This is the basic term for applying plaster onto any masonry backgrounds. It’s a very traditional form of plastering and often regarded as the "right" way to do it.

It has 3 main stages:

1. Applying the base coat to the brickwork (in this example we’ll use British Gypsum Hardball
2. Float whilst providing a key with a devil float
3. Apply the finish coat of plaster a few hours later.

This is the basic outline for plastering a brick wall!
We’ll delve into the subject in greater detail but that’s the foundation to this method of plastering. You will need:

- 1.8m Featheredge
- Trowel
- Hawk
- Mixing bucket
- Mixer
- Water
- British Gypsum Hardwall plaster
- British Gypsum Multi-Finish plaster
- Devil Float
- Water Brush
- Water Buckets
