Jane Doe is an antagonist who appears in DC Comics. She is a nemesis of Batman and the Great White Shark. Created by Dan Slott and Ryan Sook, she made her appearance for the first time in Arkham Asylum: Living Hell #1.
The term ‘Jane Doe’ refers to a nameless person. It is the name given to someone with absolutely no identity at all. Jane Doe in the comics reflects this exact trait as she does not have an identity of herself and needs to emulate that of others.
She appeared in the final season of the live-action television series Gotham, as Jane Cartwright. Her character was portrayed by Sarah Pidgeon.
Here, Jane Cartwright is subjected to shapeshifting experiments by Hugo Strange, turning into Jane Doe. However, her character is far more sinister and creepier in its original portrayal.
Jane Doe is a serial killer who observes her targets and completely morphs herself into them. She is completely damaged and broken from within, which is why she needs to turn into someone to cope with her life.
She is severely traumatized but as of now, we know nothing about her childhood, which is something that several fans are curious to know about.
In this video, we will get down to Jane Doe’s psychology, abilities, and of course, her antic that cemented her skillset and her as a villain to be feared.
