Lady - Mako Road Guitar & Bass Lesson/Tutorial and Cover

In this video, I will finally show you guys how to play the song Lady by Mako Road! I think this song was requested at least once in the comment section of each Mako Road video which is not a surprise because it has to be one of their best songs! I will start with a cover so you guys can get a quick preview of everything I will be teaching you and we will get on to the lesson from there!


This is one of the first songs I tried to teach myself long before this channel was even a thing so it's been a favorite of mine for a very long time. When the requests started rolling in for this one from you guys, it made me stop and think, "What makes this song so special?"


What's cool about this song to me is how it starts so laid back and chill (like 'Ride') but then it pivots and turns all happy and cheerful and seems to keep going back and forth between these two different vibes. I believe that is because of the key change from C minor to Eb major. I've linked a fretjam video below explaining this concept in more detail.


Another thing I thought about is the musical key characteristics for this song. I usually look past this, but for this song I really wanted to take a deep dive.
