2017 HONDA CR-V - HOW TO REPLACE REAR BRAKE PADS - DIY - HOW TO RETRACT ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE

Описание к видео 2017 HONDA CR-V - HOW TO REPLACE REAR BRAKE PADS - DIY - HOW TO RETRACT ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE

**Update 2-2023**
So after about 2 1/2 years, I just replaced the rear brake pads (& rotors this time) on this same vehicle and I retracted the electronic parking brake mechanism using a different method. I manually retracted the caliper mechanism by removing the small motor and turning it back in from behind with a T-47 torx bit. I also learned (thanks to your comments) that I didn't need to turn the piston when pushing it back in.

Just a quick video showing how I replaced the rear brake pads on a 2017 Honda CR-V with the electronic parking brake. We didn't resurface or replace the rotors this time.
Please note:
Do not put any wires or power into the electrical wiring or connector that is connected to the vehicle's wiring harness and/or computer.
Do not turn on the car with the electronic parking brake motor disconnected.

Tools Needed:
Large screwdriver or small pry bar
Wire Brush
12mm socket and/or wrench
19mm Open-End Wrench
Brake Grease
Caliper Wind back tool kit
12 volt power sourch and some small wires and/or terminals to supply power to the parking brake motor.
The torque specs I found online: 19 ft. lbs. for the caliper slide pin bolts. (I recommend checking that in your manual to make sure it's correct.) I looked it up and found 17 ft. lbs after doing this...I am sure it's fine as long as you're close to that.
