About this video: OptiFine is one of the most popular Minecraft mods every made, and Forge is the most popular Minecraft mod loader. This video is our complete guide on getting OptiFine with Forge in 1.21.8.

To get started, you will need to download OptiFine. Just Google “Minecraft OptiFine Download”, and go to the download page. On this page, you will see a Forge version listed. Make note of this as we will need it later.

From there, click “mirror” next to the version of OptiFine you want and then “Download”.

Now, go to the Forge download page by Googling “Minecraft Forge Download”. On this page, scroll down and click “Show All Versions”. Find the version of Forge that was listed on OptiFine’s website. Click “Installer” next to this version, and click the “Skip” button on the next page to download Forge.

With everything downloaded, open the 1.21.8 Forge Installer with Java. Then, click “Okay”. Forge will now install.

Next, open up the Minecraft Launcher and click on “Installations”. There should be a forge installation. Hover over this and click the folder icon to open your .minecraft folder. Here, there should be a mods folder. Drag-and-drop the OptiFine file you downloaded into this mods.

Play Minecraft with Forge, and OptiFine 1.21.8 will be installed. It won’t show up in the “mods” menu, but OptiFine’s features will appear if you go to “Options” and “Video Settings”.
