Описание к видео High security in Benghazi as Tripoli protests continue

(8 Nov 2013) Security was stepped up on the streets of the Libyan city of Benghazi on Friday following intense clashes overnight Thursday between rival militias in the capital Tripoli.
The increased army presence on the city's streets appeared to be welcomed by its residents.
Benghazi resident Abdulkader Hassan said: "We want the army and police to re-build, and we don't want people who have militias."
Hundreds of armed soldiers and armoured trucks were being deployed on the streets of Benghazi on Friday.
"The deployment of the army today is a clear message to the Libyan people that the army is present, and at any time we are needed we will be on the streets at any time that we are requested to protect them. This is our message for the people," Libyan Air Force Colonel Salah Ali said.
Thursday's late-night battle between two warring factions in Tripoli killed three people.
The fighting was sparked by the death of a militia commander from the western city of Misrata.
Dozens of Misrata militiamen, some riding in pickup trucks mounted with anti-aircraft guns, drove into Tripoli late on Thursday to attack their rivals.
The clashes scuttled Tripoli residents off the streets, forcing drivers to abandon their cars and run for their lives.
Many closed shops while others fled their homes after bullets struck their apartment buildings.
Bullets also shattered windows of a five star hotel.
Sporadic gunfire was heard into the early hours of Friday.
