Today on our 2016 Toyota 4runner we're doing a test fit of the Thule Passage 2 trunk-mount bike rack. That part number is TH910XT. Now we already have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you how we show you how we do that. We have two cradles in place with three straps, two on our frame and one as our anti-sway strap in the back. Going to pull down and lift up to release those.

Then we're able to pull our bike off and set it off to the side. With that out of the way, we'll take a few measurements. First is going to be overall what we're adding to our vehicle with our arms hanging out. Going to have about 18-1/4". Now we do have the option to rotate our arms down. To do so we're going to squeeze our two pinch points on either side.

That arm loosens and rotates down. Same thing on the opposite side: squeeze and rotate that down. Now we're only adding about 8" to our vehicle. As for how our bike rack is secured to our vehicle, we have six straps altogether, two over the top portion of our hatch, two to the sides just above our taillights, and then two underneath the bottom portion. We also have these pads down along the bottom and along the top that are going to help prevent scratches or abrasions. You do just want to make sure you clean underneath there before installing your bike rack. As for how we fit this to our vehicle, we've got our fit dials on either side here.

You would remove those two thumbscrews and adjust it how we need to. We've got it to 10 as per our Thule guide, but you do want to check that and make sure that it's still accurate. That's going to be our completed look at the Thule Passage 2 trunk-mount bike rack, part number TH910XT, on our 2016 Toyota 4runner. Here it is on our test course. We'll start by going through the slalom. This is going to show us the side to side action, which simulates turning corners or evasive maneuvers.

Next we're at the alternating speed bumps, which we'll see the twisting action. This will simulate hitting a curb or pothole or driving over uneven pavement. Finally, we have the full speed bumps, where we'll see the up and down action, which is just like driving out of a parking lot, garage, or driveway.
