Now I’m not ready to go down the rabbit hole of calculating my fire number with a baby yet, but I took a peek on the internet, and geez It’s expensive.

Plus, it seems that all the dads that watch my videos agree that kids are expensive, and granted I’m Asian, it’s likely I have to pay for tutoring and a crap ton of musical instruments.

So you know what, I want to keep my sanity for a few more years, and then I’ll talk more about calculating a FIRE number with a baby in mind.

There are plenty of calculators out there to help you with this, but I found keepthrifty's calculator to be the most helpful, and customisable to my circumstances.

I am going to explain the variables first, then show you where I got my numbers from, and ultimately how much I need to invest in order to get to my goal.
