Annapolis | Maryland Neighborhoods

Описание к видео Annapolis | Maryland Neighborhoods

Melissa Huston, a guide for Annapolis Tours & Crawls, discusses the history of Annapolis, Maryland. Long a center for sailing and oysters, Annapolis reached the height of its prominence between the 1770s - 1790s, when it was known as the "Athens of America." But after decades as a crossroads for American political and cultural life, the city slipped into a century-long recession in the late 1790s. The recession served to stifle development and preserve much of the colonial look and feel that so many people enjoy about Annapolis today.
