After we verified their personnel, arms, and ammunition on a long range patrol in October, the SPLA "Abushok" Battalion did the best motivational chanting we'd ever seen...BTW, ABUSHOK is a hedgehog or porcupine. If anyone can translate the words, let me know...

This was in 2006. In 2015, I went back to South Sudan. My book, "A Swamp the Size of Belgium" describes that deployment. It was released in July 2023!
