7th Legion is a real-time strategy games developed by Vision Software and Epic MegaGames, and published by MicroProse. It was first released in 1997 for Windows. A port to the Nintendo 64 was planned, but never released.

The game was developed during a surge in popularity of real-time strategy games. 7th Legion generally follows Westwood's style of game design, with structures built from a central building and placed directly on the map, no population cap, and a single build queue per unit type being available.

Somewhat unique aspects include the game's economy: the player gets money in fixed intervals, with the amount being determined by the player's rank. There are five ranks from sergeant to general. Additionally, money can be earned by destroying enemy units, finding money crates, and fulfilling randomised secondary objectives such as destroying a specific structure or a certain number of enemy units.

Additionally, there is a card system. Players start with a handful cards out of a pool of 50. Cards can have numerous different effects: they can cause units to switch sides, buff or debuff units, deal direct damage, or steal money. The card system is rather random and can turn the tide of a match within seconds.

The plot of 7th Legion is rather simple: Earth suffers from overpopulation, and a number of humans, the Chosen, simply abandon the planet and go into space. The ones left behind form seven major factions known as Legions. When the Chosen return to reclaim Earth, the Legions unite under the banner of the 7th Legion and decide to fight back.

7th Legion received mixed to negative reviews. Reviewers criticised the game's poor pathfinding, uninspired story, and widely imbalanced card system. New Zealand-based studio Vision Software would not develop another game after 7th Legion.
