Date of Journey - 8th May 2024

Kaushak Mahal - We started our day in Chanderi by visiting Kaushak Mahal & there we met Kalley Bhai who is going to help us to explore the Chanderi.

Kaushak Mahal was built in the 15th century by the sultan of Malwa Mehmood Khilji. The Architecture of Kaushak Mahal which makes it unique.

Kati Ghati - We traveled around 3 km from Kaushak Mahal & reached at the “Kati Ghati”. The Ghati was built after cutting solid rock by the Miman Khan in 1480 AD

Jama Masjid - After this we visited the 15th Century Jama Masjid. It is said that it’s the Bundelkhand's oldest & biggest Masjid. The Masjid Architecture is in Chanderi style.

Badal Mahal - Then we visited the Badal Mahal which was just beside the Jama Masjid. Badal Mahal was constructed by Sultan Mehmood Shah Khilji, the King of Malwa, in the 15th century. It was built to mark a significant victory.

Stay in Chanderi - We booked our Accomodation in Chanderi at MP tourism property Hotel Kila Kothi. The view from the Hotel was amazing.

Tariff - 6,400 Rs including breakfast for May Month.

Chanderi Fort Light & Sound Show - After this we attended the Chanderi Fort light & Sound show. The Show starts at 7:30 pm in the evening. Overall the experience was great to attend this light & sound show. It shows the complete history of Chanderi in the Show.

Light & Sound Show Ticket - Rs 200 Per Person

After this we ended our day

Next Morning - 9th May 2024

Chanderi Fort - We started our day in the morning by Visiting the Chanderi Fort. It was constructed by Kirti Pal, a Pratihara king in the 11th century. The main gate of the fort is known as the "Khooni Darwaza". Chanderi fort is situated on a hill 71 meter above the town.

Baiju Bawra Samadhi - After this we visited the great Musicians Baiju Bawra Ji Samadhi

Shri Jageshwari Devi Temple - We traveled around 2 km from the Hotel Kila Kothi & reached at the “Shri Jageshwari Devi Temple”. This Temple is dedicated to goddess Durga & its a Shaktipeeth. We had Darshan & understood about the importance of temple.

Handloom Park - After this we visited the Handloom Park. Chanderi hand weaving is a living heritage & Chanderi is also famous for it’s Silk Sarees.
Here we understood the complete process of Handloom Sarees.

Lunch Desi Rasoi - After this we had our Lunch at the “Desi Rasoi” near the Craft Village Pranpur. Here we had the local Bundelkhandi Food. Here we experience the Desi style food which was really great in taste.

Laxman Mandir - Then we visited the Laxman mandir which was built in between 7th century to 11th Century by the King Aniruddha Singh & we also saw there Raja Chatrasal Chatri & learn about the history.

After this we ended our day.
