Episode One of the #inspEYEr series of short art films by Artist Chris Sharp.

This episode features an Untitled work in progress created using Lava Pumice, Shungite, Pyrite, Quartz, Glass, Diamond Dust and Rock amongst other random materials. 48 x 72"

I'll be releasing these periodically as and when I have new work or feel like I have something interesting to share. It's fun to learn and play with a different medium as another form of creative outlet.

Lately I've been experimenting more with heavy texture & reflecting light...I'm combining traditional materials like acrylic & enamel wih elements like rocks, glass & crystals.

The inspiration for this piece, the white area merging & becoming one with the black, was the Hermetic principle of Polarity. In nature everything is dual; everything has poles; opposites are identical, but only different in degree.. if you really think about it, where is the exact point that cold ends and hot begins?

I see my linework as a kind of organic circuitry, a stream of conciousness consisting symbols merged & stripped of their cultural references.

I'm interested in work that might act as a catalyst to return us, even for a moment to our primal nature & spirit, beyond the conditions of our society and our environment, into the true environment of energetic reality. A window into your own spirit..... to your own energetic experience. 

I see the Artist as an experiencer, someone who's seeing and bringing forth to those yet to see.
